Botanical Printed Mugs and Bowls at Pitfield Barn.

Sunday 19^th March 2023, 10am-1pm and 2.30-5.30pm.

Get inspired by the beautiful setting at Pitfield Barn and immerse in their wonderful flowers in this botanical-themed workshop.

In this workshop, we will be using a variety of seasonal leaves and flowers to create beautiful botanical printed mugs as well as bowls. The workshop will start with a tour around the beautiful flower farm with Emma.

Then you will be pressing different plants into the clay to add textures and patterns to the surface. You’ll be learning how to make these forms into slab-built mugs, making and attaching your own handles. As well as making a pinch pot bowl pressed into a mould with plants pressed in around the edges for decoration

Everyone will finish with 1 mug and 1 bowl each to be fired and glazed for you to use at home or give as a gift!

Tea and biscuits will be included!

Who is this for? Anyone keen to get their hands stuck in with clay. A chance to try hand building techniques!

What to bring? All tools and materials will be provided along with an apron. Wearing old clothes is advisable. Tea and biscuits are included! Each person will have 1 botanical plate fired plus one extra piece. You are encouraged to bring your own apron if you have one, if not there will be aprons available to borrow.

Location: Pitfield Barn Cut Flower Farm & Studio, Chalkers Ln, Hurstpierpoint, Hassocks, BN6 9LR. Parking at the farm is available. You will receive an email with more details for how to find us a week before the workshop.

Collection: The collection of ceramic work will be 6 weeks after the workshop. This is to allow time for pieces to be dried, fired, glazed and fired again. To be collected from the Pitfield Barn or a location in central Brighton. Posting is possible for an extra fee of £10.

Cancellations made over 30 days before the workshop start date will be fully refunded minus £10 to cover administration charges.

Cancellations made within 11-30 days of the workshop start date will be 50% refunded.

Cancellations made within 7 days of the start date will be non-refundable to keep the class viable for others.

If you are unable to attend, you may transfer the booking to a friend and let me know. If for any reason, I am unable to run the course you will be refunded in full.
